If your child was already diagnosed with autism outside of BC, you may not need a new assessment. The Ministry of Children and Family Development allows qualified practitioners to review previous assessment documents and complete a Confirmation of Diagnosis Form.
If your child has a prior diagnosis, I can review that for you to certify that it meets the standards applied in BC. I need to see the report from the professional (typically a psychologist, pediatrician, or psychiatrist) who completed the original diagnostic assessment. If it is not in English, I would appreciate a certified translation.
The cost to complete a Confirmation of Diagnosis is based on an hourly rate of $250. Typically, these only take an hour.
